Day 1: 22 Pushup Challenge

Day 1: 22 Pushup Challenge

Ok, let’s get down to business.  Yesterday, I was nominated to participate in the 22 Pushup Challenge.  I accepted and today, it was time to get down to business.

As a Marine Corps veteran, I might know a thing or three about hitting the deck and pushing my face off…  Only, that was 20 years ago.  Am I really that old?  PLEASE, DO NOT ANSWER THAT!

So in full disclosure, I decided the best way to attack this without looking stupid was to do it at the gym BEFORE I started working out.  That is exactly what I did…  I arrived to my gym at my normal Monday morning time, dropped my 5 year old off at Kid’s Club, stowed my gym bag in my locker and found a nice little piece of solitude (or so I thought).

One of the cool parts of this challenge is nominating someone else.  I thought long and hard about who I was going to nominate. I have some friends that are just “too cool for school” and I highly doubt they would participate.  Careful, I might just nominate you!  As much fun as this is, I want to reiterate WHY we are doing this…

On average, 22 veterans commit suicide per day. The struggle of PTSD is real. Please take time out of your day to watch the video, acknowledge your freedom and the price other people have paid for YOUR FREEDOM…  and then, go do something!  Make a point to help the veterans that have fought for the very freedom you enjoy!  Ok.  Off my soapbox.  #22kill #22pushupchallenge

Watch the video to see who I nominated to start their 22 days tomorrow!  Now get on your face and PUSH!
